EMPLOYMENT SERVICES ACT ARTICLE 51 APPLICATION FORMS
AND COMMENTARY
New regulations for OPEN WORK PERMITS were announced on January 21, 2002. Article
51.01.01 applies to foreign spouses married to ROC citizens, who
have residency based on marriage.
NNFS
has obtained beta copies of the forms and attached additional
commentary and analysis herewith. Please find attached WORD
file. There are Chinese characters included on some pages.
If you or your friends, associates, jogging
partners, etc. have further questions, give Richard an email
at richard@oriented.org
NNFS encourages you to apply
with the Council of Labor Affairs by registered mail. Don't expect
to get coherent explanations of anything if you go to the CLA
in person!! All of this is very, very new, and the volunteer
girls at the counter haven't even figured out the old regulations
yet!
The actual screening of applications
is done by officials upstairs, and they are very busy.
You will want to have a full grasp of the
five categories of people eligibile for these vastly simplified
application procedures for a work permit.
51.01.01 -- foreign spouses, who have residency
based on marriage
51.01.02 -- refugees or stateless persons,
who have residency
51.01.03 -- those foreigners who have resided
and worked continuously in the ROC for five years or more
51.01.04 -- lineal blood relatives of ROC
citizens
51.01.05 -- permanent resident foreigners
The Application
Forms are slightly different for each category. What you are
getting today are the application forms and commentary for those
foreigners who are married to ROC nationals, so-called foreign
spouses.
If the
pages don't download exactly into your computer, you may have
to adjust the spacing a bit. Play around with the APPLICATION
FORM so that it fits on one page. The margins are set quite
wide.
Feel free to resend these files to
anyone you want. You can also print them out, photocopy them,
and pass them around.
These application forms are ready to go.
We encourage you to fill them out and send them to the CLA
so that you can get your Open Work Permit for the ROC area in
a short amount of time.
